about me

Carolyn has spent her life infusing artistic endeavors in all facets of her ever day life.  As a young child she was fascinated by the ability to express beauty through art.  Upon graduating from High school she studied art at Lansing Community College and since then has spent many hours in classes and workshops with nationally acclaimed artists.

Her life naturally moved in creative directions and her career outside of art was in marketing as Director of Sales and Marketing for area hotels.  In her work and personal life she has never let art and it results go far from her vision.

Carolyn left the marketing world to focus on her art full time, she has continually studied new techniques of presenting her vision and has been juried into shows and museums and received many awards and invitations to exhibit.

“I try to describe beauty with each painting” says Carolyn, “and that is why I work primarily in watercolor, as the medium itself is beautiful.  I use many techniques to amplify the description, such as sculpting rice paper before the watercolor is applied and using pastels to enhance the watercolor.  I also use liquid watercolors in combination with yupo paper in many of my paintings as the control of the artist is limited and the medium sometimes paints the picture.  What fun that is when it happens!  Painting is my love and my obsession.”
